Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former world number one, has endured a difficult season, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks the player's first trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hard court after March of 2023.

The win also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in Halle earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his ability to perform at the top level was over.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, backed up by an better serving game.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden tour victory, took control to push for a final set.

He saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he clinched victory with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
